- Why are quotes of Ignatius of Loyola included in a collection of quotes by the Reformers? Loyola was Counter Reformation.
Elliot Ritzema — EditedThanks for your question, William, and I'm sorry I didn't see it until now. As the title indicates, that volume contains quotations from the era of the Reformation (which, for the purposes of the collection, spanned roughly the years 1500–1650), not just the Protestant Reformers. In fact, the only volume of this set that sorts sources by theological tradition is the one from the Puritans. The other four are sorted only by historical era (the early church volume is drawn from 100–600; the medieval volume is drawn from 600–1500; and the modern volume is drawn from 1650 until about 1920). Hope that helps, and sorry for the confusion!
