• Anyone claiming dispensationalism in a recent teaching needs to read this book. It ties dispensational thought to the earliest Church Fathers.
    1. I am sure this review will be deleted as my previous one saw, but I will try to leave one again and hope for the best. In this book preview on pages, 82-82 under the heading, Canyon Evidence, the author writes, "If a single catastrophic flood—a single surge of rushing water—was responsible for carving the geologic features of the earth such as the Grand Canyon, what would we expect to see?" No YEC, to my knowledge, states that the canyon was formed by a "single surge of rushing water." From what I have read from YEC literature, and I have read a lot on this issue, while YEC believes there was one flood, they also believe that there were many surges during and after the flood. On top of that, years later, there was also flooding as large bodies of water, the size of large lakes, also flooded canyons after several lakes burst from their make-shift dams, like the great Missoula flood, for example. This explains many of the features found in the Grand Canyon and others like it. Sadly, the author seems to be unaware of what, from my knowledge, all YEC says about this issue. I wish the author would have quoted the YEC scientists who believe what the authors say they believe there may be some, but I am not aware of them. The other preview chapters do the same from what I read, so it was a bit disappointing. I had hoped the book would have interacted with what creationists are actually presenting. Instead, the book builds strawmen for the purpose of tearing them down. While some YEC creationists may believe what the author says they believe, I have not seen any. From my reading of the preview, the rest of the book seems to take this same course of action to build straw men, so the author has something to tear down. I was only able to read the preview so take this review for what it is. The rest of the book may interact well with actual YEC arguments, but I have to wait for it to come out to be sure. I hope this review is not taken down, it does interact with what the author wrote, but it is limited to what the preview reveals. Thank you, and God bless
      1. I have found the same with nearly all anti-creationists. They do not understand or accurately describe the creationist position and spent all their energy punching straw men. Thanks for letting me know this isn't worth reading.
