Please pray over the relationships between me / my boyfriend, me / my Mom, me / my sister, and their relationship with my boyfriend. He has a past of alcohol and drug use but has worked extremely hard over the last 10 years to change his life and become a better person. My mom and my sister have heard comments from people in our small town and as a result have made assumptions and judgments that, to my knowledge, are not true. My mom and I have not spoken in a month. A PRAISE is that I did speak with my sister recently and she responded in a positive manner. Please pray that their hearts and minds would be opened and that they would come to see my boyfriend for the great man that he is. Please pray for him, as this has torn him apart. He recently said, "This has broken my self confidence and basically broken me." I know that only God can heal him from this hurt. Please pray for that healing, as well as for him to truly forgive them and others (his own family) who have hurt him in the past. These hurts are compounding; he is dragging them around and they are weighing him down. It feels like my mom is trying to dictate things in mine and my boyfriend's relationship. Please pray that our relationship does not end because of her / her opinions. If our relationship ends I want it to be because God reveals that we're not meant to be together.....not my mom. So, please pray for clarity and discernment. Also, my sister and her fiance will have a couples' shower this weekend. My boyfriend had considered not attending due to recent treatment from my family; however, now he says he will go with me. Please pray that he WILL NOT back out. Pray that he will go with me and that we can both hold our heads high - not in arrogance - but in confidence of who we are. Pray that my family, especially my mom and sister, would have a new attitude, heart, and mind towards him. Please pray that my mom will welcome us with open arms, rather than ignore us or make rude comments. Also, please pray that things will go smoothly with a family friend who is hosting the shower.
