    Sunday Worship - January 9, 2022

When we look at the book of Acts we often think of it as history; the people, places, and events that pertain to the beginnings of the church. While Acts does contain all of these things, it's most importantly a book about Jesus.

Luke begins Acts like this:  "In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach". The wonderful implication of these words is that Luke is going to tell us what Jesus continued to do!

In our text this Sunday, Paul, Silas, and Timothy will spend three Sabbaths in Thessalonica before heading out of town ahead of an angry mob. At the heart of the anger is this accusation that they are turning the world upside down. Join us this Sunday as we see how Jesus changes, transforms, and rearranges our lives!

Coffee is ready at 9:45 and our service begins at 10:15.

      Sunday Worship - January 2, 2022

Five Hundred and Eighty-Six years before Jesus, the city of Jerusalem is destroyed by the Babylonians. The book of Lamentations, written by the prophet Jeremiah, gives voice to the suffering, the struggle, and the uncertainty. In five poems suffering is given a voice.

In the middle of the suffering and confusion we find these words:

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” (Lamentations 3:21-24)

Join us this Sunday as we look to the hope we have in God. In him we find steadfast love, mercy, and faithfulness.

This Sunday we begin at exciting section in the book of Acts. After difficulty and setbacks Paul, Silas, Timothy, and Luke have come to the town of Philippi. This is a remarkable town where a remarkable church will begin!

In Philippi we'll see that the gospel is for everyone! We'll meet a rich business woman, a demon possessed slave girl, and a blue collar Roman jailer. In the lives of these three people we'll see the power of God to save!

Paul will say of the Philippian church "For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:8).
