If this was good at the beginning, and the festivals are "rehearsals" for the real thing, why the "tradition" of partial days and nights? Christ told the "teachers" and lawyers of His day: "By your traditions you make the word of God null and void."] John Grimley
    2. John, I'm not clear regarding what you are saying or asking ... particularly in response to Kyle's teaching ... Jesus did said a few things about men using their traditions to wrongly attempt to void God's word ... But He did not nullify their teachings ... He just tried to re-establish an appropriate sense of priority (Weightier Matters) ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. You hypocrites!" ... Isaiah prophesied of you, ... "This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” (Mt 15:5–9, Also Mk 7:1-13 (also hand washing ). But he also honored some pharisaic traditions ... One example is the tradition of reciting a Blessing before eating or drinking (we practice this each week at communion. His main issue regarded having the wrong sense of priorities. Supporting the Temple in preference to supporting family (Corbam), tithing mint & dill over other tithes, ceremonial washings, etc. He didn't nullify their teachings .. he taught about His "weightier matters" ... I don't often look at Proclaim's posts which are automatically generated each week without our direct action (other than recording teachings). I particularly don't read Proclaim's posting from someone elses teaching. Rob
