    1. For our Sunday Funday celebration we are celebrating Christmas in July this week. POTLUCK LUNCH – Join us following the worship service for a Potluck Covered Dish lunch. We’ve asked folks to bring some of their favorite Christmas dishes to share with everyone, but don’t worry if you didn’t bring anything to share, we will have plenty of food for everyone!   GIFTS FOR PINEWOOD -  Our gift recipients are the teachers and students of Pinewood Elementary School. Through a generous donation we're buying school supplies for them. However, Pinewood has great need for toys for the playground such as: - Balls (footballs, kickball, etc.) - Hula Hoops - Jump Ropes – Frisbees - Sidewalk chalk - And any surprises like that you can think of! You can place them under the tree in the Fellowship Hall between now and July 27.
      1. Pastor Jonathan made it to work today! 19 miles on his bike as part of the Cycle of Welcome fundraising campaign!

At the NC Synod's 2022 Gathering Bishop Tim Smith issued a challenge to the 197 congregations in our Synod that 70% would become involved in the work of Refugee Resettlement through Lutheran Services of the Carolinas. As a Fundraiser through Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for the LSC Be The Light Campaign to Resettle Refugees, Pastor Jonathan will be riding his bike to and from work Monday - Friday for the week of June 27th - July 1st. A one way trip is 19 miles multiplied by the 10 legs is 190 miles! Would you pledge to support the vital, Biblical work of welcoming refugees? If so, please prayerfully consider a per mile pledge (for example, .50 cents a mile comes out to a donation of $95). Or you can give a one time gift for the whole ride. Each day I’ll be sharing a brief Podcast Episode to talk about how the ride is going, why welcoming refugees is a part of our faith, and what Lutheran Services of the Carolinas and the NC Synod are doing to help. I’ll be joined by some fun guests along the way. You can make donations in the offering plate, by mailing them in, or by visiting www.gslcmtholly.org
