Staff Accountant

Position Summary

Working under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant maintains financial records and general ledgers, prepares financial reports, prepares and analyzes budgets, and performs general bookkeeping functions. The person in this position supports accounting and finance management and may be exposed to various aspects of the business including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and other finance related activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accounting related entries to various ledgers and journals
  • Review and perform various account reconciliations
  • Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare financial reports daily, weekly, monthly and at other intervals for use by management and others
  • Handle ad hoc bookkeeping, accounting and reporting duties as they arise
  • Some interaction with persons both within and outside the organization

Candidate Specifications

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Is naturally analytical, self-reliant and confident in identifying and maintaining financial and non-financial metrics and reporting necessary to make informed business decisions
  • Has a grasp of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statement creation
  • Is proficient with Excel and can learn systems quickly
  • Holds an undergraduate degree in accounting or will be completing one within 12 months
  • Has some industry accounting experience
  • Clearly exhibits the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and excel in what is often a fast-paced work environment
  • Effectively works with others across various levels of the organization and exhibits the ability to partner with other for mutual success
  • Is detail-oriented with exceptional follow through

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a working knowledge of Dynamics GP and Sovler bi360
  • Licensed as or candidate for Certified Public Accountant
