• Seriously? This is a catholic book?
The author's comment here sounds more like a baptist, who would deny that Romans 7 was Paul's post conversion narrative.
    1. Does merit = conducive? Something can be beneficial to understanding the gift we are given, helping us focus on it, depend in it, appreciate it, yet not be the cause of it, yes?
      1. I am curious to where they claim this is taught.

          1. Where what is claimed? I can see your post in the Logos Lutheran group, but not what you are replying to.
          2. I wondered the same thing?
        2. Mediatrix
A good clarification of the idea of mediarrix, and the role we all have ini redemption of others
          1. Danger
We have to be careful with this statement, for taking it out of context, and using an evangelcial defition of faith (that is cognizent will which is generated in the intellect,) we approach a form of gnosticism. Faith and trust in God is based in the heart/soul, rathern than the reason, and is the work of the Holy Spirit
            1. Without Christ doesn't mean we cannot do it ever. See Ephesians 2:10
              1. There is a fallacy here. To be clothed with love is not a matter of man's love, but of Christ's love for us. Paul also talks of being clothed with Christ, which I believe means the same thing as the Colossians passage here. I do agree with the concept, that man's love for one another cannot justify us, I would also say it is impossible. Save for being clothed with Christ, clothed in His love, immersed in it. That is what we have faith in, God's love for us, that is what drove Him to the cross, the idea of saving His beloved. And that is the love which creates the relationship based on faith, on trust.
                1. I have an idea for a practical use of this group. Let the groups be used to give resources for theological work, minstry but also missions. One project could be to make available Logos packages for ministers, students or leaders in countries like Madagascar, Ethiopia. These are countries with very many students, but few resources and few theological books available. Maybe someone can done packages ? (Let the ownership of laptops be a separate matter, it is easier.)
                  1. Absolutely!
                  2. I like that - my mission in in South Sudan...
                  3. Yes
