Matthew Weeden is the Director of Youth and Family Ministry at The Salvation Army El Cajon Corps. His passion is to equip families to faithfully serve Jesus Christ through sound biblical teaching. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Men of Resolution, a parachurch ministry encouraging men to fulfill their calling as spiritual leaders of the home.

Prior to working at The Salvation Army, Matt served in the United States Navy. He supervised a division of submarine sailors and was appointed by the commanding officer to minister to the spiritual needs of the entire crew. In 2006, he surrendered an exceptional military career to pursue God’s calling to full time ministry.

He pursued theological training at Liberty University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Religion. He then pursued pastoral training at Western Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. Matt is married to his lovely wife Miriam who is originally from Egypt and presently ministers to Middle-Eastern refugees.
