What strong words from Jesus!
A right knowledge of God (searching the Scriptures) produces a right love for God (come to Me). And where there is no love for God - which manifests in a dependence of God, which is the whole sense of "come to Me," there really is no knowledge of God.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. I do not receive glory from people. But I know that you do not have the love of God within you.
