    As mostly Gentiles... Why We Should Sing v.8-9 Opening Illustration: What brings us happiness and joy that leads to singing? (Noel is always singing!). Why we sing what we sing. Gospel Examples... Why we may not sing. Sad… But sad psalmists sing. Angry… But angry psalmists sing. Disconnected… But ‘disconnected’…

      Be careful not to say: "Jesus is more clearly seen in the New Testament." O foolish thinking! All Scriptures is breathed out by God that we might breath in the Gospel.

        Forget the Egyptians, God! Forget that you saved Israel from them! Remember, God, the cross of Jesus. With your mighty hand you saved us by allowing the mighty hands of Jesus to be nailed to a cross of wood. Now, 'Look to Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.' See Him as you tell us to see Him... ...and let not our city say anything against you and your perfect plan to save us. But, God, save us.

          What strong words from Jesus! A right knowledge of God (searching the Scriptures) produces a right love for God (come to Me). And where there is no love for God - which manifests in a dependence of God, which is the whole sense of "come to Me," there really is no knowledge of God. See also Calvin. Institutes 1.2.
