Proclaim

Hi There, I'm looking to use the Lighting Midi output cues to control applications inside the same mac computer as proclaim. Unfortuatnley, i haven't managed to get this to work yet so thought i would turn to you for support. The setup Mac Mini running Proclaim I've set up a Midi lighting cue using the 'Network Session 1' midi session. This works perfectly when sending midi commands to our lighting system (which responds correctly) The Goal I want to to trigger Keyboard Maestro 8 which is running on the same machine. The idea is to send a midi command to Keyboard Maestro which will in turn trigger a macro that controls Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). I have checked the OBS side of things, and the physical lighting system responding indicates that Proclaim is working. What isn't working is the link from one mac application (proclaim) to the other (OBS). Has anyone every tried sending midi commands from proclaim to another app on the same machine? Has anyone every tried to control OBS from proclaim? If so, I would love to hear from you as this set up has the potential to allow proclaim to automate audio recording and youtube webcasting without having to leave the proclaim application or train our presentation team to do 'yet another thing'. Hope this isn't too deep a question and looking forward to hearing back from you. Kind Regards

    Hello
    Steven Stoops
, I haven't used Bome's MIDI translator before, but it seems like there has been some discussion about it: https://www.bome.com/support/kb/bome-obs-studio-ever-going-to-work I'm not sure where you'd find the injected keystroke option. Let me know if that works.

    That was a great help

. There was a post from someone who suggested using CTRL+LEFT, which made me think that choosing CTRL+ALT+anything was too much, so I chose to use CTRL+K. It still doesn't work with OBS, but I can use it to start the recording with Perfect Automation as I do now, but also can use it to stop the recording. This is a huge thing for those times that I am out of town. I was away one Sunday and stopped in on Tuesday as I was getting back into town I found that it was still recording 48 hours later.

    Hey
    Justin (Faithlife)
(and anyone else who would like to automate things using the MIDI output from Proclaim on Win10). I found the solution to my OBS hotkeys from Bome's Midi Translator. It seems that the duration of the key press output from Bome's wasn't long enough for OBS to recognize. I changed my approach and now use the MIDI from Proclaim to Bome's to send a key down output of CTRL+R, then a slide with a duration of 1 second followed by another MIDI note to Bome's to cause the release of CTRL+R. The same for the stop recording cue (except CTRL+L). A little convoluted, but now only use 2 outside programs instead of 3 to accomplish it. It would help if Proclaim sermon recording would record videos, but it's far too much post production to dub in the moving backgrounds when I create a DVD for the residents of the local Skilled Nursing Facility so they can have church services on Sunday. Or, perhaps Proclaim could include Hotkey output as well as MIDI and lighting cues in the future.
