  • If you are embedding a PowerPoint a preacher has supplied to you into FaithLife, but that PowerPoint has a video as one of the slides, how do you get it to play. At present we have either had to ask for the video as a seperate file or we have had to come out of FaithLife and run the PowerPoint seperately then go back into FaithLife Any suggestions would be wonderful Martin
    1. If you open the file in PowerPoint, you can go to the slide with the video, right click the video, select Save Media as..., save the video on your computer, and then add that video to Proclaim.
  • I am trying to automate a few things using Proclaim, but for some reason when the presentation moves to Bible slides, it fires the last MIDI command, I even see it fire in a log. However, there are no signals on the slides. I can't figure out how to stop it from firing the MIDI command.
    1. Greetings! Our church recently installed proclaim, but we've run into an issue with the confidence monitor configurations. Whenever its and image, or powerpoint presentation, the confidence monitor shows the images very small. I haven't had much success figuring out how to change the default settings.
      1. Our church is in need of a new PC badly. we have a member who wants to donate funds towards a new PC. Has anyone seen any good Black Friday specials for a PC that will work with Proclaim?

LOGOS® Proclaim® has unique requirements wherefor the vast majority of outlets haven't provision. I pictured a SERIOUS Workstation for 胡桃江市日系基督教會 of Walnut Creek (CA, USA), a member Congregation of 東宣北米神聖教会 OMS (viz., Oriental Missionary Society) Holiness Church of North America. My goals include an intel® XEON® W7-3455 (FCLGA 4677), ASUS® Pro™ WS W790-SAGE SE, nᴠɪᴅɪᴀ® QUADRO® RTX™ B7000 (nᴠɪᴅɪᴀ GB102 GPU, 24GiB GDDR7 ECC VRAM), triple 2GiB PCIe 5.0 SSDs, octal 16GiB DDR5-5000 ECC modules, and triple ASUS ROG® THOR™ power-supply units (JCCWC has a six-phase 120/208/240VAC PG&E supply). Also a 5U rackmount PROMISE® unit-attached SAS hard disc array. I'm forced to give each SSD its own fansink, as the only LGA4677 MPU coolers available are crossdraft, RATHER than downdraft.
        2. You might find that the new MacMini is a convenient unit to buy.
        3. It depends on your budget, -- and how familiar the person who maintains the computer is to the various operating systems. As suggests the Mac Mini would be a good decision, unless you aren't familiar with MacOS. Then when things go wrong you may not be able to repair the problem -- and, yes, things go wrong with Macs as well as PCs. If PC is your preference, I have found that gaming PCs have everything you need, right out of the box. The one in my link below is at it's lowest price ever and has a high end processor and GPU. The page at Amazon doesn't actually say, but the computer has 4 display outputs. It should be future proof for a long while. https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-Aurora-R16-Gaming-Desktop/dp/B0CKLYZHTF/ref=sr_1_4?psr=PDAY&s=pbdd&sr=1-4&ufe=INHOUSE_INSTALLMENTS%3AUS_5M_VENDOR_FUNDING
      2. How do you delete a presentation?
        1. Church Presentation/Presentations (folder)/Select presentation you want to delete (the presentation should open in a new tab) ACTION (Upper right corner click-down arrow) DELETE
        2. Thank You!!!!
      3. Hello, is there anything in the works for Proclaim to link to the NRSVUE Bible version. We are using it more in service, and have to copy and paste it from an online bible program into the scripture slide. Any advice or input for getting proclaim to automatically connect to it?
        1. i figured out i had to buy the NRSVue bible from LOGOS. however, i'm not happy that my user account is the ONLY one that can see the new bible, i feel it should be visible for any of the users that log into Proclaim to put together the service. do i talk to Proclaim support or LOGOs support about how to share the extra bible so it's visible for the users that actually use proclaim
        2. You can contact customer support or make a suggestion Carol however I would guess that the barrier will be copyright issues. I take it you know that if you, as owner, add a bible/onscreen-bible item from a bible you own that excerpt is visible, in that translation, to the other group members. Don't forget that any translations that you buy can be used in the Logos Bible Study programme which is a huge advantage for you, and if they purchase their own resources, your other group members.
      4. Fellow Proclaimers! My issue is with the Closed Caption feature and slide transitions within PowerPoint not working on the host computer when presentation was created from a remote computer. When the presentation is created on the host computer (PPTX) and imported to Proclaim all the CC and transition features are kept in tact.
        1. That's what found.
        2. I pray more people will read and affirm this post so that Proclaim folks will help.
      5. How do I make personal pictures fill up a slide proportionally and not have the white and gray background default? No picture uploads look pretty in the presentation...
        1. I make all our slides in Canva with a 16:9 ratio, save as a PNJ or JPEG, and upload as a background for the announcement slide in proclaim.
        2. That's PNG (viz., Portable Network Graphic).
        3. Haha. Yes. I didn’t realize I mixed up the letters. Thank for the catch.
      6. In our image slideshow, our images do not all fill the screen. I find no background setting, but we would like to fill the sides of the photos with color. How do we do that?
        1.  — Edited

As Margaret has said, if you fill the background with the colour or slide of choice, you can now add your desired information as a foreground image so that the sides reflect the colour or design of choice. As far as changing the aspect ratio of a slide you can edit it in a photoshop type programme and upload it so it will fit the background.
        2. You have a couple of options: 1) In the image slideshow hover over the individual images. 2) Select "Background"... then ... choose "center" ... unless it cuts off something of critical importance, the image will end up filling the screen. I use this lots for photos taken in "portrait" mode but with unimportant content at top or bottom (or both) of the photo (which often happens with photo submissions) ... select a color to fill the rest of the screen (). Not only can you fill the rest of the screen with a color, it can be different for each image.
        3. That background option that is on the thumbnail and not on the full slide is what I was looking for and could not find. Now, if I can only remember next time! Thanks to everyone so much.
      7. I am creating a sermon in Logos and I have an extended passage: Eph 3:7-12. Previously when I added the passage by tab or block, it would create multiple slides automatically but now it is squeezing all the text into one slide. How do I prevent that, fix it, or divide it into separate slides in Logos automatically (btw, I can't find a Logos group in community if this needs to be asked there).
        1. It does look like a problem has appeared You can probably fix it by choosing the option to editing the slide (click the slide to see this) which will take you into the Media Tool. You will see the text on the left and formatted as a slide on the right. If you create a blank line where you want a split to happen and put the characters -- onto it, that should split the slide. To report it, I'd flag it in the Logos desktop forum at https://community.logos.com/forums/170.aspx
        2. thank you all. I did find that the insert block would create slides, but tab would not. Also, The logos desktop does not appear in my groups list even after a search.
        3. Yes - the "logos desktop" is on a separate platform to the groups here. If you click the link in my post above it should take you to it
