Question re Digital Signage. I followed the recommendation and bought a Fire TV stick (since I couldn't figure out how to use the built-in Samsung MagicInfo player to connect to the sign feed). The feed works well with the exception that I have to manually launch the Faithlife Digital Signage app from the main menu. The last used feed auto-starts after that.
I noticed other signage apps on Fire TV and many seem to provide a way to make them automatically launch themselves after boot. I have not found any kind of settings or options in the Faithlife Signage app that lets me start the feed unattended by just switching on the power. I want to make it as simple as possible so hospitality folks need only switch on power and don't need navigate the menus with the remote. Any ideas?
- Of course, if you know of any auto-launcher app that can be side loaded (if that's even possible on Amazon customized Android) into that Fire TV that allows to auto-run your Signage app, all the better! I presume the black list you mentioned only pertains to the Amazon App Store.
- Reading a bit more about ScreenCloud's Fire TV app it seems that they have managed to introduce an option into their app to auto-launch after boot without incurring the wrath of Amazon... https://support.screen.cloud/hc/en-gb/articles/206880755-Amazon-Fire-TV-Player#3
- Sorry to revive an old thread but I just happened to come across this one. We also ran into some trouble trying to use Chromebit players in the past. One of the ways that we were able to make it work was with the digital signage software, viewneo. If are interested, they recently did a blog post that walks through the set up process, as well as some of the drawbacks. https://blog.viewneo.com/blog/asus-chromebit-as-a-digital-signage-player-hit-or-miss/
