I'll ask and answer my own question, in hopes that someone else will benefit from it.
Do any modern Bible translations translate εἴδους in 1 Thess. 5:22 as "appearance" rather than "form" or "kind"?
Manually looking at each translation would be tedious, even using the Text Comparison tool. Instead a milestone Basic search in all resources that are type:bible will quickly yield the answer.
appearance INTERSECTS {Milestone <1 Th 5:22>}
But this search returns places that mention it in the footnotes. What if I want to find only those that include it in the verse text itself?
surface:appearance INTERSECTS {Milestone <1 Th 5:22>}
Or to find only the translations that include it in a footnote:
footnote:appearance INTERSECTS {Milestone <1 Th 5:22>}
Group "By Resource" to see the list.
It looks like the Modern English Version and the Passion Translation are the only two recently published Bibles that translate it "appearance."
And only NASB includes it in a footnote.
- The Translation section of the Information tool can also be used to show how all of your Bibles translate a particular word.
- It looks like an viable translation of the word, just not as precise to the context here as in 2 Cor. 5:7 and Luke 3:22.
