"Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler..." (Psalm 91:3)
A fowler's snare is a wire, a net, or similar device used to entangle, entrap, and catch birds. As used here, "snare of the fowler" is a poetic metaphor that symbolizes the Lord delivering those in His secret place from the traps and entanglements of their lives..
Daniel's fellow rulers were jealous of him; and set a trap or snare to catch him by tricking king Darius into issuing a decree that they knew Daniel would violate. A decree that would mandate being cast into the lion's den, if violated. Although Daniel was indeed caught in the "snare" that they had laid: the Lord delivered Daniel from their trap, when He miraculously delivered Daniel from the lions den.(Daniel 6:1-28)
Today's verses: Psalm 91:3, Psalm 124, Psalm 118:5-6, James 4:7-10
The Lord delivered The Children of Israel from the snares of their enemies
Psalm 124
"Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth." (verses 6-8)
The nation of Israel was indeed kept in God's secret place. They were God's chosen people, the apple of His eye (Zechariah 2:8), and the root from which Messiah would come. They may have suffered for their transgressions and even been kicked out of the land; but, they were never out of the Lord's hands. Nothing could happen to them unless the Lord allowed. And, even today, they are in God's secret place as He continues to bless those that bless them and curse them that curse them (Genesis 12:31); and He keeps them safe for their role in Jesus' triumphant return.(Isaiah 2:1-4, Zechariah 8:20-23, Zechariah 14:1-11).
The Lord delivers His faithful children from the snares of men, the flesh, and the devil
From Men
Acts 16:22-34
"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed." (verses 25-26)
The Lord had previously also miraculously delivered Peter and the apostles from their imprisonments (Acts chapter 5:17-42, Acts 12:1-10) and has now delivered Paul and Silas in similar fashion from theirs. Although we cannot assume that the Lord will always act in similar fashion; we know that we serve an all powerful God that never changes. In our Sunday School class we viewed the testimony of a young man in Africa that abandoned Islam for faith in Jesus after the Lord made Himself known in his life. In response to this rejection of Islam, his relatives tried to poison him; but, the poison had no affect. All things are possible with our Lord, even today. "I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" (Psalm 118:5-6)
The Flesh
"But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition." (I Timothy 6:9)
I Corinthians 10:13
"There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able;but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Not only will the Lord provide a way out for us when we are tempted by the flesh: but, He has empowered us by the Holy Spirit and His fruit to walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh. "Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him." (James 1:12)
The Devil
2 Timothy 2:24-6
"And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of he devil, who are taken captive by him of his will."
I Peter 5:8-9
"Be sober, be vigilant; because you adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walks about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in our brethren that are in the world."
James 4:7-10
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (verse 7)
Draw night to God, and He will draw nigh to you... (verse 8)
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up." (verse 10)
Satan is laying snares and seeks to destroy unbelievers and believers alike. But, to His faithful children the Lord provides deliverance from those snares. God has a secret place prepared for us. Let's continue to focus on the eternal things above and experience that wonderful place for ourselves, as the world hectically scurries about during this Covid-19 experience. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Hechos 16: 22-34
Santiago 4: 7-10
"Someteos, pues, a Dios.
(Hebreos 11: 6)
