The church is not appointed unto wrath | La iglesia no está destinada a la ira
"And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; (Revelation 6:12)
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:14-17)
On Friday, we saw that a truly amazing event would occur at the end of the Church Age, "in the twinkling of an eye", when Church Age believers (alive and dead) would receive their new immortal bodies; and be "caught up" to meet Jesus in the air. (I Corinthians 15:50-52, I Thessalonians 4:13-18) Today, we will begin taking a look at just when that wonderful event will occur.
From our Revelation 6:12-17 passage above, we see that the final 70th week of Daniel, with its horrific events and plagues, is the time of "the wrath of the Lamb." If so, will His church be there to receive His wrath?
The Purpose of the 70 weeks and the wrath of the Lamb
"Seventy weeks are determined upon your people and upon the holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make and end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy." (Daniel 9:24)
It is clear from this verse that this seventy "week" vision with its horrific seventieth "week" was directed to Daniel's "people" (the Jews) and "the holy city" (Jerusalem), not the church. It would the time period for the completion of the Jews trangressions against the Lord and His Messiah, make an end of their sins, make reconciliation for their sins, and bring in everlasting righteousness and anoint the Most Holy, as an end and fulfillment of prophecy. The final tribulation week is also known as "the Day of the Lord," which also includes judgment on not only the children of Israel, but on the ungodly nations as well. (Isaiah 13, Amos 5, etc.)
God has not appointed us to wrath... (I Thessalonians 5:9)
I Thessalonians 1:9-10
"For they they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."
Romans 5:8-11
"But God commanded His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being how justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son; much more, being reconciled we shall be saved by His life.
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom we have now received the atonement."
As we see in these passages, we have been saved from God's wrath through faith in His Son Jesus. We have been adopted into His family, reconciled to Him, and are at peace with Him. (Romans 5:1, Colossians 1:20-2, etc, etc,)
Wherefore comfort yourselves... (I Thessalonians 5:11)
I Thessalonians 5:9-11
"For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also you do."
Here we are told to "comfort yourselves"; because we are not appointed to wrath but salvation. We could hardly comfort each other with the knowledge that, one day, the Lord would be venting His wrath on us, even though we are washed in His blood and clothed in His righteousness.
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:" (Romans 5:1)

(I Corintios 15:50-52, I Tesalonicenses 4:13-18) Hoy, empezaremos a echar un vistazo a cuándo ocurrirá ese maravilloso evento.
(I Tesalonicenses 5:9)
I Tesalonicenses 1:9-10
"Porque ellos mismos muestran de nosotros la forma en que entramos en vosotros, y cómo os convertisteis de los ídolos a Dios para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero;
(Romanos 5:1, Colosenses 1:20-2, etc, etc,)
Por lo tanto, consuélense... (I Tesalonicenses 5:11)
I Tesalonicenses 5:9-11
(Romanos 5:1)
