Throughout history, when God’s people have faced times of challenge and change, their response has been the same -- to pray. It seems clear that we are again living in times that require prayer as much as ever. That’s why we are joining together as a church to seek God and his glory through 40 Days of prayer and fasting. For the entire month of September, Andrew’s messages will be centered around prayer and the themes of our 40 Days together. But for this first Sunday in September, it’s the prayer found in Nehemiah 1 that will guide us in a time of worship through songs, prayers, and communion.
With the prayer of Nehemiah as our guide, we will move through the themes of Reverence, Respond, Receive, Request, and Ready. Along the way we will pray both silently and aloud; we’ll sing How Great Thou Art, Jesus I Come, Christ Is Mine Forevermore, Living Hope, and Living for Your Glory; and we will take Communion together. We’ll close our time by praying over our Giving, and be sent out with a Benediction. If you have a prayer request you’d like to share this week, please email it to:prayer@meadowsfamily.org.
Will you prepare for worship this week? Prayerfully reflect on Nehemiah’s prayer, familiarize yourself with Sunday’s songs, and pray for our time together. Remember also that attendance is limited at our in-person services right now, so you must register if you’d like to attend.
