Looking for some sermon prep input. When you hear the following much quoted saying, what is your reaction? “The business of the ministry is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.” Go... And thank you.

    Comfort the afflicted is easy to understand. I think we all generally know how to do this. Afflict the uncomfortable makes me stop and think. This is less natural and we all probably need a lot of work here. And, if you just inserted this quote in a sermon and kept going, I would likely find myself turning the last part over and over and realize hopefully not too much later that you had already moved on! Not sure if that helps - but it’s my reaction!
