South Coast Church Missionary Window September 18, 2021
Hello, Church Family.
We know, as HIS people, that it is a blessing for us to be part of God’s
plan to take the Good News of our Lord throughout the whole world in
order to fulfill His command.
What a blessing to have had the Adams Family share with us their
last weekend before their long trip to the Amazon Jungle in
Bolivia! Sharing with them regarding their trip; the search for a “home”
(amazing in itself); learning a new language; showing love toward individuals
from a culture entirely different from theirs; and listening to some of the
steps and the ways they teach people who don’t even know the name of Christ is
a ‘heart and soul humbling’ experience!
(They arrived safely).
Please, let the testimonies of God’s faithfulness in the
midst of the experiences of our missionaries encourage you to believe for HIS
protection in your home and HIS guidance of your prayers and
support for the cause of missions. God
loves all the people in this world, and He is at work one heart at a
time. We ask that you join us in our
desire to pray for them as we receive communication from them. How is the Lord speaking to you? What missionary, nation or people are
you willing to commit to for the next years?
Juan Carlos & Colette Gonzalez – Japan
The Gonzalez family had and continue to have the opportunity to share Christ
through thousands of pamphlets and Olympic related literature in Tokyo as their
church plant passed them out as well as invitations to their church. Their Kids
Ministry continues to happen with every opportunity. Colette had the
opportunity to teach some children about hard work and giving offerings to
God. After helping with the thousands of
leaflets, some of the young Japanese kids were so excited and asked their
parents to hold on to the tithe so they could place it in the Sunday
offering. Just like that, ministry and
biblical instruction was passed on to the new generation! Colette is
continuously encouraged how God uses her with the kids and in worship.
In their discipleship classes they often have individuals who share the struggles
and challenges of being a Christian in Japan.
They express their desire to know more about the baptism of the Holy
Spirit. Juan Carlos rejoices as they pass on the Pentecostal experience and
watch the move of the Holy Spirit in the lives of their church. Their prayer requests include: the church plant of the Momochi Symphony Church Building in Fukuoka, Japan; volunteers for their church; Colette’s dental needs; the end of the pandemic so Japan can open to travelers.
Osmar & Linda Silva - Portugal
“During this month, God granted us the opportunity to visit with our parents in Brazil. It might be a farewell to our sweet dad, who is almost 92, with so many
health issues, and ready to go home…
“The program SOS Familia is reaching so many families in crisis, and the feedback has been wonderful. Praise God! We are grateful for the continued work of healing by the Holy Spirit in the lives of our counselees, especially that couple whose wife tried to commit suicide last month. They’re still in the process of complete restoration. “Our little church in Palmela is growing from a Small Group to a number that is impossible to contain inside
of a home. Pray with us to find the right place to rent and call it - The House
of God.
“We had been preaching in a few churches covering for pastors on vacations, allowing them to rest and recharge to be able to better serve their people.
“Dear partner, thank you for keeping us, our children, and our dear elderly parents in your prayers. “Please know that we do pray for you daily. May our God keep you and yours safe and joyful as we serve this AMAZING GOD together. We appreciate and love you!”
Brandon
& Kendra Kertson – Chi Alpha/San Diego State
The Kertson family has been busy throughout this academic year despite the pandemic and having less students on campus. At times they were able to reach
students through electronics means who had not previously come. One of the
students (Johnathan) previously was from a Buddhist family background but came
to know the Lord as his Savior. Chelsea was another student who came from an agnostic/spiritist background. These two have been discipled and now are
part of the program to be leaders for other students. It is such a blessing to see a ministry which has the opportunity for this next generation of leaders to have access to a program that teaches and brings hope through the Lord Jesus ….. which is not what most students are learning on our college campuses!
Brandon asks for continued prayers for the San Diego State chapter as several of his previous leaders have gone to Hawaii, New Hampshire and other colleges to begin Chi Alpha Chapters. It feels like parenting…they grow, leave “home” but go out where God leads them to continue growing and blessing others!
COMPELLED
Please be praying for all of our South Coast Church Missionaries and remember to continue your monthly giving to support their work for the Lord around the world.
