“And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true [they are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy].” Revelation 21:5 AMP
The book of Revelation is an explanation and reveling of the purposes of God from Genesis to the book of Jude. In chapter 21, the Apostle Joh describes the way things will be when death and sin will be destroyed forever!
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away (vanished), and there is no longer any sea. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, arrayed like a bride adorned for her husband; 3and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them [as their God,] 4and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21: 1-4 AMP
Reading those words, it seems unreal and impossible! It is for that very reason God and His seal of approval! I love the Amplified translation here to be sure we understand the importance of the statement. It isn’t just a wish or a dream but the very Word of God! God’s words are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy! Throughout the book of Revelation, we are reminded that all of these things God has spoken are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy and thereby worthy of our fullest attention. We will be reminded in Chapter 22 once more before the close of the Bible that God’s words are true.
“Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent His angel [as a representative] to show His bond-servants the things that must soon take place.Revelation 22:6 AMP
The Apostle Peter put it all in perspective when he, by inspiration of the Holy Spirts writes the following,
“Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be [in the meantime] in holy behavior [that is, in a pattern of daily life that sets you apart as a believer] and in godliness [displaying profound reverence toward our awesome God],” 2 Peter 3:11 AMP
Let me ask you today, what sort of person are you being in the meantime? What does Peter mean “in the mean time?” Simply put, how are you living your life considering the truth of God’s Word? Are you living daily, observing all things He has taught you or are you running an endless race of self-direction? Joshua directly challenged the people of God entering the promised land.
“14“Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and in truth; remove the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the [Euphrates] River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”” Joshua 24:14-15 AMP
Choose today to live in the light of God’s Word! Don’t let the enemy steal your peace and joy by living according to your circumstances but rather by the truth of His Word!
Thank you all for your patience these past weeks as many trials and challenges have come upon us. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated.
Is It Really True?
