We will explore the divine dance between faith and technology. In a world ablaze with rapid advancements and innovative wonders, we find ourselves at a crossroad of techno-optimism and techno-pessimism. What sets us, as humans, apart from the machines? And how can we establish guidelines for the responsible utilization of the magnificent realm of artificial intelligence?
Here are 3 things Christian need to know about AI:
1: Techno-optimism vs. Techno-pessimism
Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes." Ecclesiastes 7:18 (NIV)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
We are called to dance along the edge, finding the harmonious rhythm where hope and caution intertwine.
2. Unveiling Our Divine Distinction
An AI chatbot or robot should never substitute for human wisdom, care, or companionship.
3.Establish the Dance of Responsible Utilization
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.(1 Corinthians 13:13)
We need to discern creational norms for AI
We will need wisdom to discern the extent that we ought to replace traditional human roles with machines.
Appropriate norms should point us towards using AI to opening up new possibilities for showing love to our neighbor and caring for the earth and its creatures.
Here are our action items:
