As I upload media, I do add much of it to the boards I've created, but the group media file gets to be a mess. Is there any way to organize it or delete files from that board without losing them?
- The tools for organizing Group Uploads are pretty limited. When a board is created, it is added to the bottom of the list, and there is currently no simple way to change its position. As far as changing what board(s) a media item is in, that's easy. In the media browser, select the media item that you want to change. Now look on the right, where the characteristics of that media are given, and find the "Boards" section. You can add the media to a board by clicking the down arrow on "Add to Board" and you can remove it from a board by clicking the "x" next to the board you want to remove it from. This does not delete the item, just changes how it's labelled in the media browser. Note that the item can be in multiple boards, and it's always in the "Group Upload" board. You can also select multiple media items in the media browser using the standard methods for your OS, then add or remove all of them from groups using the same methods. I do not try to access media from the Group Upload board, as that is too unwieldy. Instead, I assign EVERY uploaded item to one or more of the boards I've created, then use those boards to access the media.
- On the other hand, James T Fagan & Nancy Bell, the search function often amazes me. I was looking through our preservice loop and noticed a slide that still had our old web site url. This slide had been created in PowerPoint so it was an image, no actual text -- just an image of text. I wanted the original slide, but just wanted to change the website url at the bottom. Since it was in an image slideshow, my only choice was to search in the media browser. I clicked Group Upload and then searched for one word on the slide -- the word "online" -- Proclaim found it, even though it was an IMAGE with the word online on it and the name of the slide was Slide 4.
