- I hope it'll be useful to others. You can certainly do this with Midi Relay, or with the Companion "Generic Midi" module; the aim here was to make it quick and easy to set up.
- I replaced one of my Signals with this last Sunday. Worked great. Setting up new buttons is way faster than the MIDI feedback feature and having access to more than 32 buttons on a page is awesome. I like that it listens to all MIDI, not just Proclaim, so triggering stuff in Ableton Live works too. The only very very minor downside is using a second MIDI loop port so the MIDI between Live and Proclaim doesn't push buttons too. Probably the best help to me in all the years I've been doing this, , with Proclaim's Alternate Displays being a distant second. God bless you, brother!
- Thanks for your encouragement , it has been working well for us too here at Elmdon Church.
Companion Midi Button Presser
I've made a quick video describing "Companion Midi Button Presser", a simple (and open source) app I wrote recently to help with automating aspects of our church production environment. It aims to make it simple to control Bitfocus Companion by sending MIDI notes from Proclaim lighting scenes.
This is working nicely for us so far (though only a few weeks into using it); I hope it may be useful to other churches too. There are bound to be bugs to discover, and enhancements to make. At present it's Windows-only as I don't have a Mac to hand to test and build on.
