The Word of God has quite a bit of analogy and metaphor to go with the plain simple language of passages like the Ten Commandments. Many of which we can hopefully relate to as Jesus describes himself as a brother and Lord, God as a father while also carrying characteristics of a mother. Most of us can think of our own mothers, or if we had the misfortune of not growing up with ours, the mother of our friends and cousins. Recognize the love in their look, their embrace, and their speech. Then read God’s word again with that perspective in mind. Isaiah 66:13; Romans 5:8
