I've been wondering, have you guys considered allowing us to have individual notes per slide? From my experience, I've noticed that the notes in the notes tab on proclaim apply for all the slides. While that sounds nice, that actually doesn't really make sense given that after sometime, the notes would get smaller and smaller due to the font size constraints. Cause remember, the more text on a slide the smaller the words get, hence having so many words wouldn't make sense, unless we were able to split it per slide. The only reason I ask for this is because we use the drawing tools on the app on an android and an ipad, however, I'm not able to fully convince the pastor of switching due to the notes issue. Because why would he have an Ipad, his bible, and his notes on the pulpit. That's too many things up there. So at that point it doesn't make sense to use the app, hence my question.
- Hispanic Ministry you ar right, notes are per service item, not slide. So if you have one Content item that has multiple slides, you just get one notes blurb. However, on the Remote, you can click the gear and enable notes, so on iPad you should be able to have a scrolling list of notes on the side while the slide is on the other side. (and it won't be constrained to one slide, its a normal font size) We have thought about expanding notes, essentially making it more like `alt-content` where you could annotate notes per slide. The only issue we need to think about is how easily slides can be changed or deleted in Proclaim due to them being a side effect of the amount of text and font size... so its possible a simple edit could mess your notes up.
- Jordan Sjodin thanks for responding back. I actually figured that was the reason why you guys hadn't implemented it yet. I've tried the IPad solution that you mentioned and for me it worked great, but remember it's my Pastor the one that I'm trying to convince. And frankly that was his pet peeve. He would prefer to have it per service item. Now that I type this I wonder if I should separate his sermon into individual service items rather than one service item folder. So doing like separate slides at that point. That would solve the issue then. It would be nice though but I understand the implications/issues that would arise with my suggestion. Thank y'all for all you guys do. I actively promote Proclaim all the time because I think you guys have created a nice app for churches and I'm grateful for that. I can't wait to see what you guys achieve in the next full app update.
- Hi Jordan, I import my sermon slides from powerpoint (as images). The individual slides in powerpoint are imported as a group of service items, so each original powerpoint slide keeps just its own notes. Hope this helps.
