I have figured out how to add a mask to the bottom of my slides. Is there a way to automatically compress the slides so that all the content shows. My masking just covers the bottom portion of my slides.

I assume you have already looked at the available aspect ratios for your screen, but needed masking to support a size we don't have? The best way is to choose the right canvas size. If you don't have one that matches... (we probably should just let you type in whatever you want...) To answer your question: No, the masking is merely an output mask at the last layer, so the editor and media isn't aware. However, you can make your own smart media (Media > Create Smart Media) and make your own templates for the items you use, and in these template you'd ensure the content doesn't go into your masked region. You can then set all of these as the default for their type (Settings > Default Media), so when you add new items they use them automatically.
