Brandon Wroge in Proclaim

Is it possible to use tablets or smart phones by parishioners as visual aids WITHOUT the ability to control? The Follow and Control options are both present when new people are added as members. I just want "Follow" to be an option on their mobile device. HELP!!

It has been a while since we looked into this, Brandon Wroge, so my recollection may be faulty, or things may have changed. As I recall, we would have people download the Proclaim remote app and, since they weren't part of the team, the only option they would get would be to follow. They did have to set up a Faithlife or Logos account first.

Using the Proclaim app may work, but I am not aware of how you can prevent the user for selecting "Control" instead of "Follow" for the presentation. Streaming the content, using something like VDO.ninja, so parishioners can follow the presentation within a web page would be simpler and not require a mobile application or a login. We use VDO.ninja to stream our OBS output, which includes the NDI lower thirds feed from Proclaim, to stream to monitors in the narthex and other locations within the building. This is a good solution for a view monitors, but not for more than 10. Proclaim may have other web based options, like their Sign Feed, that is worth looking into.

I'd recommend that you look into the Sign Feed as Paul suggested. We haven't really adopted it, but I setup a "LiveLyrics" sign feed and assign our Sunday presentations to it. I gave the sign feed a default 4 slide loop for when nothing is on air that basically let's people know they are at the right place, can tell it is active and will get the slides when they go live. When a presentation goes live there is a bit of a startup delay, but then the sign feed gets our full screen feed with no delay. They'd just use a browser to hit something like https://signage.faithlife.com/<account name>/signs/<sign feed name>. I don't know if this can be set to an alternate output like the lower thirds for a live stream. I'd guess so, but I've never tried that because A) My intention is that this is just for people in the church that have a problem looking up at the screens (ours are high) for longer periods and B) They don't need the live stream's video and graphics because they get them in person.
