Error messages when updating or installing Proclaim Problem You may receive one of the following errors when attempting to update or install Proclaim: From ProclaimSetup: "Unable to download a required file" This problem occurs when Proclaim or ProclaimSetup is unable to download resources or the individual installers necessary to install Proclaim. Tip: Restart Windows Sometimes this error can appear if the Microsoft's Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) has been temporarily disabled, or otherwise occupied. Shut off and restart your computer to resolve this. Despite Windoze doesn't like this program anyway (keep anyway), I've done the cold boot but still no go. Anyone have a solution? The install works ok on another PC.
  1. Problem solved. Using AI, I ran the installer from a command prompt with administrator privileges. I would like to know why the usual way doesn't work. The PC had a very new installation of Windoze 11. I have run other programs recently with an .exe installer with no problems.
