CHRISTIAN COURSES
Everything You Need to Know
Why Christians Should Be Lifelong Learners
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, he commissioned his disciples to go and make more disciples of all nations. A disciple is, according to the Lexham Bible Dictionary, is a student, pupil, or learner. It was a familiar concept in first-century Judaism—the “learner” or “student” would attach himself to a particular rabbi with the intent of learning everything the rabbi knew and becoming more like him.
All followers of Jesus are his disciples—and that means we should “attach” ourselves to him so that we continually learn from him. We do this primarily by reading and studying the Word of God.
But he also calls us to make more disciples.
This is why it’s critical for believers to be lifelong learners—to continually learn so that we can effectively disciple others. In addition to spending time in Scripture, Christians can learn more about Jesus and other related biblical topics by taking Christian courses—especially those taught by scholars and theologians who have spent years digging deep into Scripture and biblical topics so that they can effectively (and soundly) teach others.
