    Sunday Services

Join us for worship every Sunday @ 11am! You can do that in person, or via our livestream.

For the next two Sundays (9/20 and 9/27), we will be meeting outside in the grassy lot beside the PO. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on! You will also want to bring your Bible, and maybe an umbrella to provide some shade. This Sunday looks like it will be a little chilly, so bring a jacket!

Starting the first Sunday in October (10/4), we will begin meeting indoors again. We'll send more information regarding indoor services as that date gets closer.

There is no need to register for our outdoor services, HOWEVER, if it rains this Sunday then we will meet indoors. Due to COVID-19, we have limited the number of people inside the PO to 75, and we will be arranging seats so that they are appropriately spaced out. If you are planning to attend if we meet indoors due to inclement weather, please register using the link below so we can plan accordingly.

    5-5-2021

    Hello Restore family,

As we go into our corporate prayer time at 6pm, we will be focusing on James 4:1-10.

    Warning Against Worldliness

What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

We will be praying through these verses.

    Format for corporate prayer:

    1. Prayer of God's attributes.
    2. Prayer of confessions.
    3. Prayer through James 4:1-10. Theme - Doers not just hearers of the word.
    4. Break into small groups for lifting each other up in prayer.

If you are not able to join us or the connection online is not as good, please use this format at home with yourself and family to follow along.

Please join us in person at 2701 Joy Road, Detroit, MI 48206 or online at

        Hello Restore family,

Today we will be focusing on corporate prayer for revival.

If you were not able to attend this past Sunday service, below is the link to the sermon on What is Revival?

        What is Revival?

These are the four divisions of focus for our corporate prayer time today. Please use this as a template and continue to lead yourselves and your family in prayer throughout the week.

        Corporate Prayer

What is Revival - Psalm 85:6 - will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? To Live Again

REVIVAL- Spiritual renewal in the life of the Church that has individual, familia, societal and global effects

        1. Attributes of God - Rediscover God for who He is. Give God the praise and glory for who He is Lord over all.

         INFINITE

God is beyond measurement—we cannot define Him by size or amount. He has no beginning, no end, and no limits. Romans 11:33

         OMNIPOTENT

God is all-powerful. He spoke all things into being, and all things—every cell, every breath, every thought—are sustained by Him. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Jeremiah 32:17-18; Jeremiah 32:26-27

        GOOD

God is the embodiment of perfect goodness, and is kind, benevolent, and full of good will toward all creation. Psalm 119:65-72

        LOVE

God’s love is so great that He gave His only Son to bring us into fellowship with Him. His love encompasses the world, and embraces each of us personally and intimately. 1 John 4:7-10

        JEHOVAH-JIREH

“The God who provides.” Just as He provided yesterday, He will provide today and tomorrow. He grants deliverance from sin, the oil of joy for the ashes of sorrow, and eternal citizenship in His Kingdom for all those adopted into His household. Genesis 22:9-14

         IMMUTABLE

All that God is, He has always been. All that He has been and is, He will ever be. He is ever perfect and unchanging. Psalm 102:25-28

        TRANSCENDENT

God is not simply the highest in an order of beings (this would be to grant Him eminence). He is transcendent—existing beyond and above the created universe. Psalm 113:4-5

        JUST

God is righteous and holy, fair and equitable in all things. We can trust Him to always do what is right. Psalm 75:1-7

        HOLY

God’s holiness is not a better version of the best we know. God is utterly and supremely untainted. His holiness stands apart—unique and incomprehensible. Revelation 4:8-11

        2. Personal Revival - confession of sins

2 Tim 2:21 - Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a

Vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house

                             Ready for every good work.

        3. Revival for the saints and the local Church

As Ephesians 6:18 says, “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.”

        • Pray for devotion and purity to essential doctrines. (1 Timothy 4:6-8)
        • Pray that the church will rediscover its first love of the work and person of Christ. (Revelation 2:4 Hebrews 3:13)
        • Pray that the world would know we are Christ’s disciples and can be effective salt and light. (John 13:34-35)
        • Pray that pastors would preach the Word faithfully, reproving and exhorting as necessary. (2 Timothy 4:2)
        • Pray that Christians will grow up into maturity in the knowledge of Christ and His Word. (Ephesians 4:12-16)

        • Pray for more Christians to devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. (Acts 2:42-44, 46-47)

        • Pray for God to raise up workers and evangelists for His harvest. (Matthew 9:37-38)

        • Pray for brokenness over the eternal state of the lost. (Luke 15:8-9)

        4. Evangelization of the Unsaved

A revived church must engage in evangelism. However, the Bible makes it very clear that no one seeks after God unless the Holy Spirit first draws him. Therefore, we must pray that God would open hearts to repent and receive His Son.

        • Pray that the captives of the devil would be released. (2 Timothy 2:26)

        • Pray that the dead would be made alive in Christ. (Ephesians 2:1-7)

        • Pray for the lost to repent. (Luke 13:5)

        • Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. (John 16:8)

        • Pray for seeds to sprout and take root because they fall on receptive hearts. (Luke 8:4-15)

        • Pray for revived Christians to be faithful in witnessing. (Acts 1:8)

            BOILER ROOM

            The power of corporate prayer:

The book of Acts tells us that it was after a mighty corporate prayer for boldness (Acts 4:24–30) that “the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness” (v. 31). Acts also recounts how the church’s corporate prayers brought deliverance for the imprisoned apostle Peter. The apostle felt an angel tap him on the side, heard his chains rattle to the ground, and saw the iron prison gate automatically open for him (12:7–10). After Peter collected himself and went to the house of Mary, he found the church praying for him (v. 12).

Please join us for a mighty corporate prayer this Wednesday from 6 - 7 pm EST.

PLEASE INVITE NEIGHBORS, FAMILY MEMBERS, CO-WORKERS, ETC to join either in person at the Restore Church Building, 2701 Joy Rd, Detroit, MI 48206

                    Hello Restore family,

Because we know the truth of Easter Sunday, that the tomb is open, so must our mouths be!

Just today I read some interesting statistics!

                    1. 82% of people invited to an Easter Service are willing to attend.

                    2. Only 2% of Christians invite a person to church.

                    3. 7 out of 10 unchurched people have not been invited to church.

                    4. Of people who visit church on Easter Sunday 86% do so because they were invited.

These numbers indicate this ENCOURAGING reality - people will come IF invited!

One way to open our mouths for Jesus is to invite people to Easter service where He will be proclaimed and worshipped.

I've made a list and am inviting some guys on my baseball team who I have had spiritual conversations with the last few years - from a jewish guy, to a few cultural Christians, to a guy who recently came to Christ but does not have a church home. Plus I'm going to invite some neighbors and other friends.

A lot may come, none may come, or 1 or 2. But I am reminded faithfulness belongs to me, fruitfulness belongs to God. And success in the Christian life is not marked by results but by simple obedience.

Let's be successful this week by inviting people in our friend, neighborhood, school, work, and recreational circles out to Easter Sunday Worship!

Who can you invite? Who will you invite?

Carpe Diem! Seize the day by leveraging Easter to get people under the sound of the gospel, that we may see the lost birthed into God's family!

Hope you have great week as we move toward the events that are at the very epicenter of our faith, Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday!

                    Pastor Mike
