Overview

The poor, the mentally ill, and the outcasts see your church more clearly than you do. Trolls & Truth is a wake-up call for today's church, delivered by modern day trolls who meet at the Church Under the Bridge in Waco, Texas. These outcasts are more often feared and misunderstood than appreciated for who they are and what God does in them. Through their truths, spoken ever so bluntly, we learn that the gospel cannot be held hostage to cultural values and remain “good news.” About the Author Jimmy Dorrell is pastor of Church Under the Bridge, an interdenominational church that grew from a Bible study with five homeless men in Waco, Texas, in 1992 underneath an interstate bridge. Today, 300 people of many races and economic backgrounds meet outside under the same interstate bridge each week. Dorrell and his wife, Janet, also founded Mission Waco, a Christian, holistic nonprofit to empower the poor, in 1992. Dorrell remains Mission Waco's executive director. Dorrell is on the board of the Heart of Texas Homeless Coalition and has founded four nonprofits that benefit the poor. He and his wife, Janet, have four children: Seth, Josh, Zach, and Christy.
