Originally published as part of the Bible for Home and School, Edward Lewis’ The Book of Judges exposition on Judges is a learned and solid exegesis on the text of Judges. Lewis divides Judges into three sections: an Introduction, the Main History of Judges, and a Conclusion. Further, Lewis argues that instead of an accurate historical of events that took place, Judges is to be understood as legends informed by historical events.
Edward Lewis Curtis was professor of the Hebrew language and literature at Yale University. He is also the author of Chronicles I and II in the International Critical Commentary.
