Overview

Written to Messianic Jews in the first century, the Book of Hebrews, understood properly through Jewish eyes, edifies and encourages all. This epistle is one of the outstanding theological treatises in the New Testament. Hebrews Through a Hebrew's Eyes teaches the message of this important letter in a fresh, new way. Dr. Stuart Sacks, himself a Messianic Jew, offers insights into Hebrews that only a Jewish believer in Yeshua can give.

“Hebrews alone in the New Testament actually calls Yeshua (Jesus) our priest.” (Page 1)

“According to the Talmud, God will one day ask every Jew if he was diligent in setting aside a regular time for study.” (Page 8)

“No individual since the time of Melchizedek received God’s sanction to occupy both distinctly separate offices of king and priest.” (Page 54)

“No higher view of the Messiah is to be found anywhere in Scripture (1:3)” (Page 4)

“In the final analysis, the greatest of prophets could not effect a change in the hearts of his people. Moses could lead Israel out of Egypt; he could not accomplish a change in their basic tendency to spurn the Law of God.” (Page 28)

A fresh and fascinating study of Hebrew. Dr. Sacks comes alive as he interacts with the text from his personal background in Judaism.

—Dr. R.C. Sproul, Ligonier Ministries
