Digital Logos Edition
The book of Hebrews conveys a double dose of spiritual power. It not only presents the greatness of Christ in ways no other New Testament writing does, but it repeatedly demands a heart response from the reader. No one can study Hebrews and not grow spiritually and come face to face in a new way with Christ.
“Hardness of heart originates in unbelief, which produces contempt for God, which in turn shows itself in distinct behavioral patterns—namely, negativism, grumbling, quarreling and disobedience.” (Volume 1, Page 101)
“True faith is neither brainless nor a sentimental feeling. It is a solid conviction resting on God’s words that makes the future present and the invisible seen. Faith has at its core a massive sense of certainty.” (Volume 2, Page 60)
“So the preacher to the Hebrews, who exhorts his flock to ‘endure hardship as discipline,’ is enjoining them to a most positive pursuit that has as its goal the very growth of their souls.” (Volume 2, Page 170)
“First, we must understand that Moses was divinely chosen for his epic task.” (Volume 1, Page 87)
“Second, Moses became the incomparable deliverer of his people through an unparalleled display of power.” (Volume 1, Page 87)
