Digital Logos Edition
Anyone who has determined to seriously study the book of Colossians knows how difficult it is to find a good commentary on the book. It is a book difficult to exegete and many scholars really have never attempted to explore its depths. Since there is such a dearth of good commentaries on the book of Colossians, this book by Brother Roy Gingrich meets a great need.
“The majority of the people were native Phrygians (a people who had a reputation for excitability and instability).” (Page 3)
“They will thank God for qualifying them by His grace (1:12)” (Page 13)
“we note four things regarding its teachings: (1) It taught rationalism (Greek philosophy” (Page 5)
“The Gnostics taught that asceticism is one of the means whereby the pure spirit of man is freed from his evil body.” (Page 23)
“The church at Colosse probably was a small church. One of its meeting places was the house of Philemon, Philemon 1:2” (Page 4)
These commentaries, written in outline form, are concise yet comprehensive, doctrinally sound and practically useful.
—Rev. John Edward HAO, President Faith Bible Seminary, Queens, NY
