7 Boys In A Boat
Sometimes we are just supposed to move ahead in the life we have in a manner clearly bounded by the morality of God, within the framework of the precepts and commands of Jesus, under the guidance of the Spirit. This is the pathway that is always available for us to walk. CCLI Copyright License 11107056 CCLI Streaming License CSPL085064

Tag, we’re it.
Last week, we got to view the empty tomb from the perspective of Peter, John and Mary. This stunning development has cast hopeful chaos into the lives of the followers, to be sure. They are trying to determine what has happened, and as of yet, the only person that the risen lord has appeared to has been Mary. CCLI Copyright License 11107056 CCLI Streaming License CSPL085064

Mary, aware.
Mary was loyal to the One who saved her. Never see her wavering in his life, or his death and she was the first person that the risen Lord appeared to! We can’t discount the importance of the witness of the women at the cross and tomb. They would have had little to no standing in that society. In many ways, we still struggle with racism, classism and gender discrimination. For the record, we are all created equal by our sovereign God. Mary’s work to follow Jesus now culminated in her full belief that He is who he said he is. CCLI Copyright License 11107056 CCLI Streaming License CSPL085064

Just gettin’ started…
It’s 2026 and we are back where we left off in the book of John. Jesus, the man who would bring the love of God to the world, has died. He has endured life as a human for 33 years and it has ended at the hands of unjust, evil men. He is blameless and pure. His sacrifice is perfect because he is perfect. It is utterly in line with all prophecy and requirements because he has been utterly obedient to the Father. It is ultimately complete because he has ultimate authority and ability to complete the task of salvation for all humanity. CCLI Copyright License 11107056 CCLI Streaming License CSPL085064

The last hours of a carpenter.
John has carefully described the events that were key to the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth. He did so in order that those who heard of Jesus and his acts would choose to believe in him and in believing, have eternal life. CCLI Copyright License 11107056 CCLI Streaming License CSPL085064

The impossibility of denying who Jesus is.
The work of John was to tell the story of Jesus in order to hasten the confrontation that everyone must have with the person of Jesus. This is what happened as Jesus began to reveal his identity to the Jews as his ministry rolled out. His miracles, conduct and teachings became increasingly impossible to ignore. His progressive revelation of his deity became more than the religious leaders could bear. CCLI Copyright License 11107056 CCLI Streaming License CSPL085064
