In the long run, how much do You set aside for treats? And do You want to consider cancelling some book orders?
Follow- How have You all been doing? Reports in, please!! What do You currently consider swapping or returning? How I've despite what I had said two Years ago, done has been "a temporary" bundle Library offer, $1k high-end upgrade. I certainly didn't shun showing good support for what individual volumes I value the most - kept buing á la carte until Weeks before the high-end upgrade for a thousand $. In this case the $ sign says a lot. 90 volumes = close to half of the ones in it new to me, are ones I will certainly use a lot. It was firmly in the high-end upgrades thanks to the high quota of volumes I'll be putting to definite use. Hurting me how to pay my other expenses and how to manage to give (my? I'm not able to just claim her) new (rather, or currently very, poor) girlfriend a money-gift (27-Year old gifted, talented, individualistic extremely intelligent polymath and also artist who is saying kind things to me and exploring a multitude of topic-areas with me), as I'm asking her out in three-four days on her very first ever date, ... I'll because of date preparations and the Verbum books and Iran business and initial gift to co-author, be having to try to take out an express loan and begg money from most of my closest friends and relatives. My upgrade consisted mostly of commentaries, also some reference works (DCH, re-gaining the 1996 LSJ, Aramaic Bible) and the regular price for it, is $ two-and-a-half k. So the proof of my history of supporting just what I like is evident. No complete sets in the bundle - that's exactly what I like about it and it's unusual for a boxed-product mid-level or high-end product. Do You still agree mid-level upgrades is when it costs rather close to more or less than $400? That definition of what is mid-level has worked awesome as a definition and was the level of my purchases previously so far. /In Your sevice, Unix, desk phone +46858244728 - and I'm able to call most of the World very cheap now!
- Clarification grammatically: 90 volumes are ones I will certainly use a lot. 90 volumes are close to half of the ones new to me in the purchase. I indeed kept it, these configurations are not always available or cheap. Wholly unlike the stereotypical base-package/Library Upgrade
- Which (historical-critical) OT commentary set should one keep upgrading? OTL (Old Testament Library), H (Hermeneia), AYBC (Anchor Yale Bible Commentary), ICC (International Critical Commentary), ECC (Eerdmans Critical Commentary)? (I don't count WBC (Word Biblical Commentary) to this cathegory as it tries to be several things.) I assume most of us have at least two of these sets? I don't have ICC, just a few very scattered volumes (an the NT is included in Verbum Cloud subscription which I have during this ongoing Month) Most recently I have actually bought monographs produced by De Gruyter, Brill, Springer and Crossroad Publishing Co, such as EDIT: if I afford it later on https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/9004282653?ref_=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item&pldnSite=1 and two volumes (going to get all the volumes, latest hardcover Editions) of A History of Women Philosophers - a four volume set which covers a very long period of time and came out mostly in the '90s.The Book of Exodus (Vetus Testamentum, Supplements): Amazon.co.uk: Thomas Dozeman, Craig A. - Commented in a thread very relevant for this group! Although the trigger warning is that the approach is pretty clinical even if concise: http://www.christianforums.com/threads/biological-backup-for-the-bible.7947150Biological backup for the BibleThis is a fun one We tend to place a great deal importance on monogamy, especially in the Christian faith { most of them at least } We know the Bible...www.christianforums.com
- I wrote a helpful comment on a software competitor forum, the part about buying sets, individual volumes and whether to do it as printed matter or electronic, applies to Verbum as well: https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/14739-accordance-vs-print-accordance-vs-ebooks/?hl=%2Bmodules+%2Bprint#entry71179
- As I'm right now considering mostly print commentaries and occasional monographs: Buy monograpghs You previously couldn't afford but that have retained their value; buy commentaries that are durable, contain a view that You haven't got represented elsewhere and particularly not represented elsewhere from an as early time as in these ones that You are considering, and that complement what You have on the computer. So right now I'm considering duplicating Moffatt NT commentary in print, and buying some Clarendon Bible and New Clarendon Bible. At the same time I'm buying a hardcover copy of OTL Psalms by Artur Wiser - a copy in good in good shape that ships with protective plastic to the dustcover. These would look great on the shelf but should be used in research together with someone OR when away from the computer I also recently bought Hendriksen and Kistemaker Baker's New Testament Commentary but don't seem to be able to download it (it's under OliveTree) on my old 2011 BlackBerry Playbook. As Accordance's Android version is soon out I could use a newer tablet for that too. But I had not neither planned nor budgeted to buy a tablet for many Years

I have a first-Month-free subscription of Verbum Cloud, started today. Highest level $50. Over 1,200 books downloaded. This seems like a decent offer for temporary intense use. I'll be using the books during now for a Month. WORDsearch sells Hendriksen and Kistemaker Baker's New Testament Commentary (12 vols.) until March 3., I think I'm going to duplicate it under that platform. https://www.logos.com/product/43197/thomistic-ressourcement has been on a sale since Jan. 2018, I might buy it as it's the kind of resource I would normally buy but it's a budget question:
- Master Journal budget bought!
- When thinking of the personal character check-boxes at a local dating site over here, a thought strikes me: Am I an intellectual? And btw, starting from today and during the entire year 2015 I've promised my parents I won't be asking for any money whatsoever for any purpose. I promised them that a while ago. I've been prioritizing booksfor about 13 months - speaking of which I really need to use what I have + study more seriously at uni doing all the homework. Is an intellectual an accomplished person or can it also be someone who is learning and studying? I'm willing to learn, just haven't found the most effective routines yet as I've been procrastinating by using too much time for thinking, reflecting and analyzing prior to gaining more solid knowledge.
- ... continued: My most recent change to these patterns is that I've divided schoolwork and other personal studies in Bible Study softwares, forums (such as christianforums.com and unorthodoxchristian.freeforums.net) and printed matter by having separate rooms for the purposes in my home. I prepared that change for ages as I've had a too big apartment a really long time. But can't currently get a new contract so Ican't move.
- I made an exception right now to not ordering more individual purchases, see: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/94366/655513.aspx#655513 ... there goes $349.95 I'm cheerfully saying goodbye to the money!
- I maybe just haven't looked into it enough, but at present I don't see the value in that. Seems highly specialized.
- It was a very sad moment, when almost all De Gruyter product pre-pubs that had been gathering interest - despite all possible efforts (very long early-bird price period, AND the pre-pub prices got even lowered even lower once - at which rate the prices were then kept 'til the end) were erased from the catalogue - it was a while ago now and tragic for Logos/Verbum. They never made a return ever. There were a few monographs that had made it for sale for a while (that had came up through a different small collection that I didn't take), not from this Collection, then taken down eventually from the Storefront, and they never returned. I'm a vigorous proponent for European publishers to be Suggested As Module Requests and then produced, and products by all European publishers bought, over at the Accordance forums. Go to: https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/forum/91-module-requests/ … to comment or post as many requests as You ever find beneficial!, click like on everything such! Go buy from publishers such as Brill and Sheffieldphoenix.co.uk that do stock SOME titles! NICOT
Is there anyone in here who is into very recent Old Testament commentaries? I'm considering ordering https://www.logos.com/product/217285/prophets-11-vols plus Second Samuel in the series. Some I already have - some under Accordance some under Verbum. Completely new to me that I have nowhere would be Jeremiah - this is just out (it's not the 1980 Edition); and Amos. Amos would be interesting to have under Verbum, I don't have all Amos commentaries but I do have the recent one in AYB - so it should work smoothly in tandem with this new NICOT volume.
Dynamic sale price is showing me $206.26, Second Samuel as $42.99 I would highly likely get 15-20% off the latter one if I combine orders by calling in to sales, the link to it: https://www.logos.com/product/176183/the-second-book-of-samuel
I'm hesitating because I'm not particularly sure that I want to have the majority of commentaries I possess in my ownership, under Verbum, also it's much more for leaving a legacy and fairly complete account after me:
