Drop shadow for text over video?
When I try to add a black drop shadow to our worship lyrics over our livestream video, nothing shows up. As I understand it, that's because Proclaim is trying to produce black for a projector, which is essentially impossible. But there must be a different mode for projecting text over video, right? Right?? Help. :)
- Not silly! I assumed that is what you were doing by your question. I assume you are overlaying Proclaim’s output over live video, using OBS, Wirecast, vMix etc? Or perhaps with a Switcher? In either case, you would need to ‘key’ out the background. Proclaim supports filling transparent regions with either black, green, or blue. Black would be removed with a luma key and can result in the your dropshadow vanishing. Blue and green need to be keyed with a chroma key, and can support black, but cause slides that contain blues or greens to be keyed on accident. So its a little bit of a balancing act to find what suits you best. Since I only attempt to key white lyrics over the video, I use the luma key route and a black background. For my slides that can contain many colors, I simply do a picture in picture where the pastor is along the left and my slides are along the right.
- In Proclaim’s display settings you can change the output transparency color
- And you can see Jeremiah’s screenshots here for how that looks: https://faithlife.com/posts/2255414 Proclaim replaces the check board pattern with green on the output.
