Proclaim

Hi there, our church uses vMix for camera switching and streaming, and I've just started integrating Proclaim into our workflow for projection and lower 3rd overlays. I especially appreciate being able to output multiple NDI outputs for integration into our vMix workflow. I've setup an internal loopback audio driver to send our vMix audio feed into Proclaim so that it can record our sermons, which has been working perfectly. However, we've just had our first video submission for the service (since switching to Proclaim), and this has highlighted an unfortunate issue with sending audio into Proclaim. The NDI outputs include not only audio content playing through Proclaim, but also the audio feed going into Proclaim. I suppose this wouldn't be an issue if you are feeding your mic audio directly into Proclaim, and then out to your house/stream. However, I'm not comfortable routing our audio through Proclaim and then into vMix, as that would mean we would lose audio and graphics if Proclaim would crash, rather than just graphics. (Thankfully, Proclaim has only rarely crashed during setup, and never during a service). Perhaps there could be an option to disable routing the audio input through the NDI outputs?

Yes, in vMix you can just mute the audio coming from over the NDI from Proclaim. However, I think what I understand of your setup this would mean that you wouldn't get any sound coming from the video playing in proclaim, unless that is getting into vmix through some other another route.

The issue is that because I'm sending vMix audio into Proclaim, and Proclaim is then sending that audio back through it's NDI outputs (which are inputs in vMix), if I unmute the Proclaim NDI outputs in vMix, I get feedback, due to the signal looping back on itself. If there was an option to not send audio from Proclaim's 'Audio Input' through it's NDI outputs, and only audio from videos and audio tracks in the service list, this would solve this issue. As it stands now, I have to host the videos in vMix, which means managing multiple lists of items for a service (which is one of the things I had hoped to avoid by switching to Proclaim).

Ironically, I have the opposite problem - I'm feeding the NDI output from Proclaim to OBS to capture for our live stream. When I play media in Proclaim, the media audio goes through to to OBS via the NDI feed but the input audio from Proclaim does not? I'm testing by just setting up the input device is as the laptop microphone. it seems to work well and is able to be used in recording but when I go live and view the stream in OBS, there is no audio signal coming through from the microphone. Has this feature been removed since Andrew posted above? Is there a setting somewhere I can't find which allows Proclaim's "Audio Input" to be routed to its NDI output?
