Proclaim

We are looking to replace our current video camera that we use for OBS live streaming. It has been suggested that we get a PTZ camera. Does that work oK with proclaim. Specifically will the midi signal in proclaim function with it as our current OBS camera does?

    So,
    Adrian Howe
, what did you do to set up HTML for the camera control through Proclaim? I'm assuming you are adding a signal in Proclaim? I'm finding precious little on line for this

It's a kludge, of course... but thanks to a recent update to Proclaim you can now change the background of the stream slide independently of the foreground on a web page content item: so we put the html string that controls the PTZ Optics camera (e.g., to go to preset 9 on the camera, we use http://192.168.1.149/cgi-bin/ptzctrl.cgi?ptzcmd&poscall&9 - other IP addresses are available, of course!). With our chroma screen as the background, this gives a seamless transition for the live stream viewers. For the sanctuary screens, with the minimum auto-advance time of 1s set it does flash grayish momentarily but it isn't hugely distracting. The huge advantage (at least for us) of PTZ Cameras that hasn't been mentioned yet is that you can set the image to freeze when changing between presets which means you lose all that disconcerting panning and zooming that you have little control over when you only have one camera, which is a game changer for us as we try to keep the AV team down to just a couple of people, one on occasion.

We are using a PTZ Optics Camera with OBS and Proclaim and it works very well with it. Currently we are controlling it with the PTZ optic widget add to OBS on via Ethernet, but, we will be moving to a serial RS232 joystick controller in the next week. We purchased one from PTZ optics for about $500 that will control multiple cameras with presets. It will be a bit faster and independent from the ethernet Cat 6 to give the full bandwidth to broadcast.
