Day 8 - "Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, (Hebrews 10:19-20)
What an amazing picture of how we can draw near to God! The Most Holy Place, referring to the place in the temple where God's presence dwelled in the Old Testament, was inaccessible to everyone except the High Priest. It was guarded by a large curtain. This very curtain was torn from top to bottom when Jesus Christ died on the cross. The author of Hebrews brings all of this together and tells us, that just like the curtain was torn, Jesus' died on the cross making a new and living way to God in the Most Holy Place. Considering these things, the following verses encourage us to draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings. May we all recognize what an amazing privilege it is to be able to spend time in his presence each day.
