Hi! Is there a way to run video from Facebook or a website i Proclaim? When I try, I get nothing else than an error message.
- Hello, Ron Esh -- I am not certain that we addressed your question in the midst of the others... I apologize for the delay. Use of a YouTube video in a Proclaim presentation is not dependent upon having a subscription for our ProMedia or the Partner Media. The OnAir subscription contains every function of our Proclaim software.
- The issue, Torfinn Myhre, is usually the ownership of the rights to use the video. As someone who does some video creation I don't know that I would want just anyone downloading and using my creations. That being said, if a small church wanted to use one of my creations and asked for permission I would gladly provide the video, along with the download link. Perhaps the person who uploaded the video to Facebook would agree to provide you with the original video. Facebook can be difficult to deal with, they claim that they don't own any content that has been uploaded to their servers, but it isn't that simple: https://www.findlaw.com/legalblogs/law-and-life/who-legally-owns-your-facebook-posts/ I gave Facebook the heave ho a few years back, I've been far happier. Now if I could get Pastor the let me stop streaming our services to Facebook :-)
- Thank you, guys, for your answers! Just to clarify on the legal aspect of using someone's creations, in my cases the owners actually wants us to show the videos. It's about promoting common events with some other churches in town. So, my conclusion is, there is no way to run videos from other sources than YouTube or video files and neither any plans to do so. Just for curiosity, is it different with YouTube videos?
