Philippians 4:8-9
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
What do you spend the most time thinking about? Not just thinking, but deep intense thinking? Whatever the answer to that question is will reveal why you feel the way you do most of the time. There is a saying that says to watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character.
It stands to reason that if our thoughts fully manifested to fullness become our character, it would behoove us to change our misaligned thoughts. Especially those thoughts that aren't aligned with the character of God. Our text instructs us on what things we ought to think about. Whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and commendable, think on those things. If we do this, it will impact our character, and the God of peace will be with us. What's on your mind today?
Let Us Pray
Lord, Increase Faith Today and lead and guide the meditations of our hearts and the thoughts of our minds. Lord, we desire to be in Your will but our thoughts are filled with things that are not only unholy, they are self-defeating. We find ourselves thinking more about what we can't do and that we won't succeed than believing that we can do all things through Christ Jesus. Lord, guide our hearts and minds back unto You today. Forgive our sins and save our souls for Your glory. In Jesus' Name...Amen
