Job 19:25-27
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
26 And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall ysee God,
27 whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me!
Redeem -- To release from blame or debt, to clear, to free, to buy back, to change for the better, to free from the penalty of sin
It would not be an understatement to say that few have lived on the earth who have endured as much hardship, heartache, and humiliation as Job. The sad thing for Job is that these calamities caught him completely off guard but was also the result of God showing Satan that God trusted Job. Even in all of his suffering Job still remained steadfast. His faith and steadfastness is summed up in this passage of scripture, I know that the one who will free me lives. I know that my Redeemer lives and He WILL stand on the earth in the last days. Job goes on to say that even after this body of mine has been destroyed, I will see Him with my own eyes. What do you know about YOUR Redeemer? Do you trust Him today?
Let Us Pray
Lord, Increase Faith Today in us as we trust You to restore us, to free us, to release us from the bondage of sin that has held us in captivity. We confess You as our Lord and our Savior. We confess with our mouths that You are God, born of a virgin, who died in our place but was resurrected to redeem us back to God. We accept Your atoning sacrifice for us and will live our lives for You. You are our Redeemer and we know that You live. In Jesus' Holy Name...Amen
