Our Stream Live info disappeared. I stepped into the pulpit, Proclaim forced a reboot at that moment. Booted up - no option to stream. Nothing I could do from the pulpit but teach and record - but all the online followers were so disappointed.
- No answer, but it looks like I would have to uninstall Proclaim in the Windows Add/Remove, then reinstall from the link at ... http://faithlife.github.io/ProclaimReleaseNotes/3.6/ReleaseNotes.html, But it is unclear if it will just automatically perform an upgrade again (seems to be doing that). Verified. So the advice given to others in this forum to install from the release notes is actually erroneous. Now wondering if there is a way to disable the auto-update from the registry.
- Hi David, thanks for the feedback and the questions. As it sounds like you’ve figured out, we removed the ability to add Live Stream cues from Proclaim with the 4.0 release. Old cues will carry over with duplicated presentations and continue to store the RMTP Url and Stream Key information, but you won’t be able to choose a streaming destination from the dropdown menu. I’m sorry for the disruption to your service and congregation, as this caught you completely off-guard right before your service. As you’ve discovered, there’s not an easy way to roll back to 3.6, and because I’m not sure how you were actually streaming (your past presentation data doesn't show me that information) I’m not sure if it’ll actually work. However, if that’s what you want to try, please let us know in your email chain with Support and we can work out a time to do that. Just keep in mind that Proclaim will auto-update in the background, so you’ll want to keep Proclaim open until your service is over. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Long term, you’ll want to move to something like OBS for streaming. While it will take some time to set up, you’ll have a bit more control over your stream than you would in Proclaim. https://support.faithlife.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042490051-How-to-Live-Stream-with-Proclaim
- Thanks, Brandon, You say the Old cues will carry over with duplicated presentations and continue storing the RMTP Url and Stream Key Information. I tested this - and it is patently untrue. I don't want anyone else to by misled. The upgrade stripped the Cues from my prior presentation. This is part of the problem I experienced in the Pulpit. The cues were in the presentation AND SAVED, then Proclaim installed itself ad hoc, and once the same presentation was loaded with the cues - the cues were missing entirely and, as you pointed out, could not be reloaded. I have checked the historical presentations we streamed, and no cues now exist in those presentations. Irrelevant, really, as we pastor-teachers never teach the same message twice (insert facetious wink here). This might be an issue of nomenclature. The cues method was incredibly elegant and perfect for those of us with small churches where the pastor in the pulpit has to be the tech support as well. While an ODS solution might be more facile and capable, in the end, it will be more complex and require dedicated computers not needed before. I will pursue this further via email support. Thanks again Brandon
