Is there a way to allow people using proclaim remote app to just view the presentation(s), and not have any other abilities?
Currently it seems that to view presentations, they need to be in the presentation team and that allows them to control the on-air presentation which introduce the possibility to interfere with on-air presentation since they could accidentally flip to another slide in the presentation. We would like to have this possibility removed.
- It's more for our pastors and liturgist to view since they find it hard to read using the confidence tv. The words is rather small and far away. They also want to have an idea when would the section would be ending, etc. We are trialing Proclaim to see if it would be better (probably getting it since our pastor approved the budget) as we are currently using MS Powerpoint and they have the service slides in PDF form on the tablet for viewing. It would be good to let them have the ability to open the presentation separately on their tablets instead of following the on-air presentation on the proclaim remote app as They might need to flip back and forth to check. It would also be good not allowing them the possibility to control the on-air presentation. If that is not possible, I guess will have to pray hard that they remember not to open the on-air presentation, otherwise, it would be a very huge learning lesson for them.
- Makes PERFECT sense ... I use the Proclaim Remote App for this. But it has its limitations. I have it set to CONTROL, I just never do ... unless the folks at the computer make a mistake, then I can force it to the next slide. If you are set to FOLLOW, here is what happens ... 1) You can, at the bottom, flip through the slides that are coming up at any time. This will NOT change the slides that are "on air" 2) LIMITATION ... Whenever the controller changes the slide ... the slides I am following revert to that slide. So ... for example ... I am reading along with a lesson, and curious how close we are to the end of the lesson, or wondering what comes next. Let's say they are on vs. 4 ... I flip forward through the slides to see the next section ... for example, the next reading. ... As I am doing this, the slides move to vs. 6 ... the remote goes to vs. 6 ... so I have to start over flipping ahead to the next section. In other words, using the Remote App I am able ... to some degree ... to see what is coming next. HOWEVER, you can open the service through the Remote App WITHOUT hitting follow OR control ... you can just open any service ... then you can flip through the slides. HOWEVER, the slide will not automatically move forward with the congregation's slides. In the Remote App Settings you can choose either STANDARD or CONFIDENCE monitor. This is true whether you are controlling or following an ON AIR presentation OR if you are just looking at another presentation. Does any of this help?
- Another thing that might help ... we connect wirelessly to a monitor in the back of our one worship space that is NOT wired to the computer. Then we set this up as a virtual screen in Proclaim and make this the confidence monitor. In other words, ANY screen you can connect to the computer using its Operating System can then be set up as a Virtual Display. For example, a tablet the liturgist is holding could be a direct confidence monitor through Proclaim. HOWEVER, the liturgist could not preview the upcoming slides or even control the movement of the slides ... but they could see the slides more directly on the tablet that is connected wirelessly through the computer.
