What is the best way to search a particular word within one author? For example I want to find all the places Plato or Plutarch use the word "imitation."

The quickest way is a Books search in "Precise" mode. Limit your books to "Author:Plato" (for example), and then search for the word or phrase. Depending on what books you have in your library, you may have to be a bit of sifting, but this worked for me.
